We are constantly being formed by the world around us. To be formed by Jesus will require us to become his apprentice.

To live by what the first Christian disciples called a Rule of Life—a set of practices and relational rhythms that slow us down and open up space in our daily lives for God to do what only God can do—transforms the deepest parts of us to become like him.

This introduction to spiritual formation is full of John Mark Comer’s trademark mix of theological substance and cultural insight as well as practical wisdom on developing your own Rule of Life.

These ancient practices have much to offer us. By learning to rearrange our days, we can follow the Way of Jesus. We can be with him. Become like him. And do as he did.

What is prayer? How does it work? And more importantly, does it work? In theory, prayer is the essential human act, a priceless point of contact between us and the God of the universe. In practice, prayer is often frustrating, confusing, and fraught with mystery. Prayer: Does It Make Any Difference? is an exploration of the mysterious intersection where God and humans meet and relate. Writing as a fellow pilgrim, Yancey explores such questions as:
•Is God listening?
•Why should God care about me?
•If God knows everything, what’s the point of prayer? •Why do answers to prayer seem so inconsistent and capricious?
•Why does God seem sometimes close and sometimes far away?
•How can I make prayer more satisfying?

“I have found that the most important purpose of prayer may be to let ourselves be loved by God,” says Yancey.

Prayer: Does It Make Any Difference? encourages us to pray to God the Father who sees what lies ahead of us, knows what lies within us, and who invites us into an eternal partnership―through prayer.

In the six-session video study (video streaming code included), Andy and Sandra combine their experience and wisdom to help viewers identify and embrace their it—their win as parents. In an inviting and conversational approach that is both informative and accessible, the Stanleys discuss:

The four stages of parenting and how to excel at each stage.

How to parent with the end goals in mind.

An approach to discipline that strengthens relationships and increases trust and respect.

How to help your child develop a strong faith of their own.

As parents of three grown children and cofounders of North Point Ministries, one of the largest church networks in the country, the Stanleys are seasoned experts on faith and parenting. Together they have spent decades counseling families and mentoring moms and dads while leaning into mentors of their own.

With their help, you won’t have to constantly wonder whether you’re getting it right as a parent. Start here and feel confident about raising children who will enjoy being together and with you, even when they’re no longer living under your roof.
